Free Delivery & Collection

Ask for the hire vehicle to be delivered to and collected from an eligible UK mainland home or workplace address.

The address, access, timing and vehicle must be confirmed. Stations, airports and ports are excluded from standard delivery, as are empty properties where the customer is not registered. Failed, changed or specialist arrangements can incur charges.

Unlimited Rental Mileage

Unlimited mileage is offered on eligible rentals within a 2,800-mile fair-use allowance per calendar month or 28-day period, or pro rata.

Excess miles are charged per mile plus VAT, and higher-mileage terms for company rentals can be arranged in advance. Unlimited mileage does not apply to courier use, which is prohibited.

Entire United Kingdom Coverage

Delivery and collection can be checked for eligible local and long-distance vehicle-hire requests across the UK mainland.

The exact postcode, requested vehicle and date must be checked. Islands and non-mainland movements can require separate arrangements.

European Cover Option

Eligible vehicles may be taken to approved European destinations when permission, insurance and breakdown cover are arranged before departure.

Charges, deposits, documents, vehicle restrictions and country rules apply. One-way hire is limited to UK mainland postcodes, so European one-way hire is not offered.

One Way Vehicle Rental

Selected vehicles can be requested for collection from a different eligible UK mainland location, avoiding an unnecessary return journey.

The start and finish postcodes, vehicle, route and one-way charge must be confirmed before booking. The service is not available for European one-way journeys.

Insurance Is Included

Comprehensive insurance is normally included for eligible named drivers on vehicles up to and including 7.5 tonnes, unless a different arrangement is requested and approved.

Driver approval, excess and exclusions apply. Goods in transit, overhead-height, tyre, windscreen and flood damage are excluded. 18, 26 and 44 tonne vehicles require customer insurance and applicable operator credentials.

Company Own Insurance - 10%

A 10% hire-rate reduction may apply when an acceptable company motor policy provides the required comprehensive cover for the hired vehicle and drivers.

The policy and certificate of insurance must be supplied and approved before delivery, and the customer is responsible for adding the supplied vehicle to the Motor Insurance Database for the hire period. Eligibility depends on the vehicle and proposed use.

Wide Range Available

Representative car, van, minibus and truck groups can be compared, with vehicle suitability and exact specification confirmed for the booking.

Images and model names describe representative classes. The exact make, model, transmission, body and specification are confirmed for the booking.

Plan truck hire in Barkham

Trucks come with rules that don't apply to smaller vehicles, so some planning up front helps.

Know the vehicle weight

A truck's gross weight affects which licence is needed and which rules apply, so it should shape your choice from the start.

Match the driver

Check that the intended driver's entitlement covers the class of truck before you settle on a size.

Explain the purpose

Personal and business use can be treated differently under operator rules, so describe the job clearly.

Consider height and width

Look out for low bridges, narrow gateways and tight parking along your route, because a truck needs more room than you might expect.

Barkham truck hire journey notes

Routes and access for truck hire in Barkham

Use the exact Barkham address and current access instructions. If the journey continues towards Wokingham, Winnersh, Finchampstead, treat those as separate destinations and identify the loading, unloading or parking point required at each one. That distinction matters for commercial loads, site moves and larger deliveries from Barkham and routes using the surrounding road network where turning space and access matter, because load weight, body type, loading method, access and any operator-licensing requirements must be assessed at the real stopping point rather than inferred from a nearby place name.

Larger items for an event at the village hall

Barkham Village Hall, next to St James' Church, takes bookings for social events, and you can only use its field if you book the hall as well. If you're transporting bulky items you've arranged for an occasion there, agree arrival and unloading with the hall before choosing a truck.

Truck hire, insurance and operator questions for Barkham

Truck Hire questions
Is truck hire exempt from operator licensing?
There's no blanket exemption. Whether operator rules apply depends on the vehicle weight and how you'll use it.
Can I drive a truck on a standard car licence?
Some lighter trucks may fall within a car licence entitlement and heavier ones won't, so the answer depends on the specific vehicle and your licence.
Should I choose a truck or a large van?
If your load exceeds a van's space or payload, a truck may suit you better, but weigh that against the extra licensing considerations.
